“We’ve been crazy busy ever since we got back from racing in Australia. We’ve been chomping at the bit to get back to action, and Sunday night we were finally able to do just that,” Godsey said. “I bided my time during the first half of the feature and was finally able to get past Jeff [Roth] on lap 16. It was great to be in the driver’s seat again, and to get a win is just the icing on the cake. This win is dedicated to all of the great folks who support Roth Motorsports.”

Roth Motorsports invaded Monett Motor Speedway (Monett, Missouri) on Sunday night for the facilities 49th Season Opener. Jeff Roth started second in the main event and led from the drop of the green flag. His time at the front came to an end on lap 17, when he slipped out of the rubber, which allowed the fifth-starting Joe Godsey to slip past for the lead.

Godsey went on to score the victory over Dustin Mooneyham, Michael Maggard and Kaeden Cornell. Roth slipped to a fifth-place finish in the closing laps.
