Godsey bags three Top-5 finishes with Summer Nationals
Picking back up with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Thursday, Roth Motorsports invaded Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Mo.). Godsey secured his spot into the show with a second-place finish in his heat while Roth followed up a sixth-place finish in his heat with a fifth-place finish in his B-Main. He took a provisional and passed five cars to finish 17th. Joe clawed forward two spots in the 40-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He followed Bobby Pierce, Ashton Winger, and Scott Crigler across the line with Tim Lance coming in fifth.
On Friday afternoon at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the Russ Wallace Memorial, both drivers faded outside the Top-10 in the feature as Joe crossed the line in 16th and Jeff followed him in 17th.
For the $10,000 prize on Saturday at Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tenn.), Godsey followed up the third fastest time overall with a 10-lap heat race victory. After scratching from his heat, Jeff Roth passed 12 cars in the 40-lap feature to register a 12th-place finish. Joe scored a fifth-place finish, which came behind Ashton Winger, Bobby Pierce, Dennis Erb Jr., and Tanner English.
On Sunday at Richmond Raceway (Richmond, Ky.), Joe came in second in his heat before passing two cars in the feature to come in fourth. He trailed Bobby Pierce, Ashton Winger, and Tanner English to the checkers with Derek Fisher coming in fifth. Jeff scored a 12th-place finish in the weekend finale.
Joe is currently in fourth while Jeff is in ninth in the latest DIRTcar Summer Nationals point standings.
