Wrisco Winternationals bring Roth Motorsports to East Bay

On Monday afternoon, Roth Motorsports pilots Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) for the 45th annual Wrisco Winternationals. In a field of 76 cars, Roth came in 12th in his heat race before scratching from his 12-lap consolation event. Godsey recorded a 12th place finish in his heat, giving him one final shot at the opening night feature with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place second or better, Joe logged a 20th-place outing. For another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature on Tuesday, Jeff finished eighth in his heat while Joe placed seventh. With both drivers transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main, Roth came in 10th while Godsey finished one spot lower in 11th.

The following night, both drivers failed to transfer out of their heat races, sending them into the B-Main. Godsey finished in 12th in the first B-Main before Mother Nature made an appearance and shifted Roth’s B-Main to late Thursday evening.

Locking in the Top 2, Roth recorded a ninth-place finish.

For Thursday night’s full program, Joe scored a seventh place finish in his heat while Jeff placed 13th. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main, Godsey recorded a seventh place finish while Roth faded back to a 12th-place outing.

On Friday evening, Jeff and Joe failed to place third or better in their heats, sending them into the B-Main for another shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Godsey finished eighth in his consolation event while Roth pulled off on the second lap.

Wrapping up the 45th annual Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Godsey finished in eighth in his heat while Roth finished one spot behind in ninth. Needing a second place finish or better in their B-Main to make the $15,000-to-win finale, Joe finished eighth while Jeff place ninth.
