Flat tire slows Roth's run in Late Model Nationals at Perth
Jeff Roth’s trip down under returned to action on Friday at Perth Motorplex (Kwinana Beach, WA) for the two-day Late Model Nationals.
With 28 competitors recording a lap in time trials, Roth clocked in seventh-fastest in his group but carburetor issues in the first round of his heat led to an early exit. In his second attempt, Jeff recorded a fourth-place finish before threatening weather washed out the remainder of the evening.
Back on Saturday, Jeff’s fourth-place finish in his final heat race positioned him 26th on the starting grid for the Late Model Nationals finale. After nearly cracking the top-10 with an impressive drive from the 13th row, Roth was one of several competitors that cut down a tire during the 30-lapper that slowed their momentum. He was credited with a 13th-place finish when the final checkers flew.
